Dear runners,

We are very sad to announce that the Chelmsford AC Good Friday 10K road race scheduled for 10th April 2020, will be postponed.

We have taken this decision based on advice given to us by England Athletics and Public Health England who have advised against all non-essential gatherings and sporting events at least until the end of April. Please see EA’s latest statement dated March 17th below.

Your entry will now automatically be deferred to our next 10K road race which is due to be held on Sunday 15th November 2020. If for any reason you cannot make this date, please contact us at and we will issue you a full refund. We would ask that you contact us no later than Sunday 10th April, and please bear with us during this process as it may take a few weeks to complete all refunds.

We would like to thank you and everyone behind the scenes who has put in a tremendous amount of work to put this event on and all of the volunteers who agreed to help on the day but this is the only responsible decision that we feel that we can make.

This is an extraordinary situation for race organisers everywhere, but the health of our runners and volunteers, and by extension that of the wider public, comes way before the importance of our events.
We at the Chelmsford AC are extremely sorry for any stress and inconvenience that this race postponement adds during these difficult times.

Thank you and we wish you and your families well.

Richard Charleston
