We are absolutely delighted to announce that the annual Chelmsford AC 10K is back..... after several cancellations due to COVID this years race will take place on Sunday 21st of November at 2pm.
This years race will also incorporate the Essex AA 10K Road Running Championships.
All those who entered our cancelled Good Friday 1OK back in 2020 who stayed with us and didn't request a refund will be automatically entered in to this race.
We’ll be using the same route as our previous races taking runners on a looped course out in to rural Chelmsford, which has always proved very popular with our competitors.
£15.00 for Affiliated Runners
£17.00 for Non-Affiliated Runners
Medals will be presented to all finishers. To further our commitment to sustainability, this year we're commissioning specially designed wooden medals made in the UK
For enquiries regarding this years race please email Richard Charleston by clicking here
Sorry this race is now completely full!
Thank you to everyone who has entered.
Please Note: The entry list has now been locked down and sent off to the chip timing company in order for them to programme the race chips, therefore unfortunately it is no longer possible for us to offer any transfers or deferrals.
To collect your bib number on the day please go to the indoor facility at Melbourne Athletics Stadium, Salerno Way, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 2EH See Map
Please note that there is an approximate 15 minute walk from the stadium to the starting line so please leave yourself adequate time bearing in mind that the registration area might be busy. A map will be provided in your race instructions and the route to the start will be signposted on race day.
The race will start at 2.00pm where Chignal Road meets Copperfield Road see map. Please arrive at the start in good time and keep off the main road until you are requested to line up behind the start line.
Usually we would provide water at the midway point and at the end of the race, but following advise from UKA we wont be providing water to athletes this year.
The need for hydration is much lessened in late November coupled with the fact that COVID restrictions would require any water handed out to be in sealed plastic bottles which would not be environmentally friendly.
We therefore advise athletes to bring there own drinks which can be looked after by a companion or securely left at the bag storage area whilst registering and collecting your bib number.
There are toilets available at the venue. There will be a secure baggage store, but any items left will be at your own risk.
The course is an undulating, looped, mostly traffic-free course mostly along scenic country roads. The race will finish on the track at Melbourne Stadium.
There will be marshals positioned at all road junctions and key points around the course. Please obey their instructions at all times. If you feel unwell or have a problem, please see the nearest marshal, who will make arrangements for you to return to the finishing area.
First aid will be provided at the start and finish area and on the course. If you require medical assistance, please go to the nearest marshal, who will contact the nearest first aider.
The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic.
Anybody seen wearing headphones will be DQD and will not appear in the results.
Whilst COVID restrictions have been relaxed compared to those during lockdown we would still ask all athletes and their companions attending on the day to act in a responsible manner and respect those around them. We also request that you familiarise yourselves with the up to date COVID advise set out by the Government.

Timing and Race Numbers
The race will be chip timed "Gun to Chip" and your race number and timing chip will be available for collection from race HQ at Melbourne Athletics Stadium. Please allow yourself plenty of time to collect your number and chip ahead of the race, bearing in mind the race start is not at the stadium.
Your race number must be securely fastened to the front of your vest/T-shirt so it is easily visible on the course and in the finish area. Please complete the details on the rear of the number; this is very important, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions.
There is Free parking at Melbourne Athletics Stadium for approximately 200 vehicles including accessible spaces. Unless otherwise stated there are no parking restrictions in the area but we would urge everyone to be considerate to the local residents.
Please follow the instructions of the car park marshals at all times to ensure the safety of runners still finishing the race.
