With the track season supposedly being in full swing and yet none of us having donned our spikes in anger, we thought it would be a great idea to lay on an event that would help fill that void and focus the mind. And will also be a perfect opportunity for you and your club to compete together against others.
This event is open to ALL running clubs who have their base in Essex (or nearby).
The event will consist of 12 races, U13, U15, U17, U20, Seniors & Vets (as of this years track season) for male and females separately.
Clubs do not need to compete in every category as we know some don't have junior sections and vice versa.
There is no minimum number of runners for a team to compete in each category but for that team to score they would need at least 5 members in a particular race.
The winning team in each category will be the team that submits the lowest combined finishing places as in cross country rules.
A trophy and individual medals (even if you have more than 5 runners) will be awarded to all the 12 winning teams, they will be sent to the victors by courier.
Entry fee is just £2.50 per person.

This fee will cover the costs of trophies, medals and courier charges to deliver them.
All moneys left over will be donated to the NHS Run for Heroes Appeal.

Winners will be announced in age group order female then male during the weekend of 30th/31st May.
We recently ran a similar event but in a relay format see here just for our club and it proved extremely popular and was great fun so we want now to open up the challenge and see just who can come out on top.

Important: Please read the following before entering the race.
Entry is £2.50 per person.
Times will be measured via strava/other running app. and a screenshot of your result emailed to email@example.com
The distance to be completed should be no less than a mile or 1609m and cannot me on a moving surface such as a treadmill.
Only one time can be entered per competitor – elapsed times (total since watch start) will be recorded.
Times must be entered between the 25th May 12.00am and the 29th of May at 12pm.
Your run must not have a significant net elevation (it can’t be net downhill of more than 15m).
Entries will open on the 11th May and close on the 28th of May at noon.
Safety and COVID-19
You should not drive or cycle to a venue to complete your run. The run should be within a reasonable distance from your home.
Make sure the route you select does not endanger you, is free of obstacles and hazards, and is traffic and pedestrian free.
Busy parks, pavements and other areas are not suitable locations to run.
Please consider completing your run at a time of the day when there will be less foot-traffic.
Always give primacy to pedestrians on route and follow government guidance keep a two-metre distance from any passers-by.
If at any point during your run it feels unsafe in the context of proximity to passers-by you should terminate your run immediately.
U13/U15s/U17s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We reserve the right to cancel the event if the current COVID-19 situation/guidelines changes.
By entering this race, you are confirming you are in a fit and healthy state to complete the distance.
You understand and agree that you are participating in this race voluntarily and at your own risk.
And that you give your consent for Chelmsford AC to publish results showing just your name, time and club.
Chelmsford AC will not be liable for any accidental damage, injury, illness of any nature whosoever and whatever caused by participation.
