Inc the Essex AA 1 Mile Championships
Saturday 29th June, Melbourne Stadium
1500m & 1mile times for
Pacemaker Lead Elite Mile races for Men & Women*
* Our Elite Mie races will have pacemakers but will not form part of the Essex Championships as paced races are not permitted in the championships. Essex athletes can still apply to compete in the Elite races but will have to opt out of the Essex Champs to do so.
Chelmsford AC's Miles of Miles inc. the Essex AA 1 Mile Championship is back this year with a bang and this will be our biggest and best Miles of Miles Festival yet with our biggest ever prize pot.
Since its inception our aim has always been to encourage athletes of all abilities to come along and "have a go"... it doesn't matter if you've never set foot on a track before or if you aren't a member of an athletics/running club. This could be the start of your athletics journey or the rekindling of a past passion.

We have the pleasure this year of incorporating the Eastern AA, Essex AA & Suffolk AA 10,000m track Championships and open graded 10,000m races. For more info and to enter click here

Thanks to local firm Comms Express for their kind sponsorship this year we're able to offer cash prizes for each age groups fastest M & F and medals for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finisher in each Mile race.
The cash prizes don't stop there, rolled over from last year as there were no takers we are offering up a hefty £1000 to the fastest Sub 4 minute mile plus the same amount for the fastest female to run Sub 4.37.
A Sub 4 has never been run on our track at Melbourne Stadium and to our knowledge an Essex athlete has never run a Sub 4 on Essex soil, so there's history to be made.

The Mile event is open to everyone of all abilities with no club affiliation required.
NOTE: Check here to see if you are eligible to compete in the Essex Champs.
Age categories for the Mile races are as follows... U11*, U13, U15, U17, U20, Senior, V40-V49 & V50+ in both male and female. Your age category for this event will be whatever category you would be in for the 2024 track season.
Please Note: Athletes need to be 9 years of age or above on the 29th June 2024 in order to compete in our Mile races.
*U11's are not eligible to compete for the Essex Championships
